Tissue Journey
Why does it take a few days to receive the results?
No medical caregiver wants to leave their patients waiting for long. Your results take some time because rendering a diagnosis is a coordinated effort that takes place over the course of four stages in three different locations.

The Tissue Journey
At the Clinic
Biopsy
- 12-14 samples are taken from different areas of the prostate samples are collected either through the rectum or perineum
MRI Fusion Biopsy
- use MRI and TRUS (transrectal ultrasound device) to ultrasound prostate and identify any areas of concern
- creates 3D image of the prostate for specific targeting when taking biopsy samples

In the Lab
After your biopsy, your tissue is sent to a laboratory for tissue processing. At this stage, the lab technicians chemically preserve your tissue and prepare it to be analyzed by a pathologist.

Pathologist

Clinician
Once your tissue has been analyzed by a pathologist, the results will be sent back to your clinician. This includes a detailed report designed to give your clinician insight into where any cancer is located allowing them to determine the best treatment for you.
